Privacy Policy

Additive Lab (ABN 97 291 597 820) is a sole trader based in Brisbane, Queensland. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, what we do with it, and how you can get it back or have it deleted.
We have deliberately kept this short. If something here isn't clear, email us and we'll answer plainly.
What we collect
Only what you type into the enquiry form:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your company, if you choose to give it
- Your mobile number, if you choose to give it
- The message you write
- Whether you've indicated you have a model ready to share
We don't ask for anything else, and we don't buy personal information from data brokers or list sellers.
What we don't collect
This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking. We don't know who visits, we can't follow you across other sites, and there is no advertising technology on this site of any kind. If that ever changes, we'll update this page before it does.
The one exception worth naming: our page fonts load from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when the page loads. This happens on a very large share of the web and we get nothing back from it, but you're entitled to know it occurs.
Why we collect it
To answer your enquiry, quote on your work, and stay in contact about a project.
If you give us your mobile number, we'll use it to talk to you about your enquiry or project — a phone call is often faster than three rounds of email. We won't send you marketing text messages.
We may also occasionally send you information about our services, materials or capabilities that we think is relevant to you. Every message like that includes a one-click unsubscribe, and we'll stop immediately if you ask. We don't sell or rent your details to anyone else, ever.
Who else can see it
We don't sell your information. Several service providers necessarily handle it as part of running our business:
- Netlify hosts this website and receives your form submission. Netlify is based in the United States, so your enquiry is stored on servers overseas.
- Microsoft provides our email. Your enquiry arrives in a Microsoft 365 mailbox, which may be stored or processed outside Australia.
- Microsoft OneDrive holds any design files you send us, if you use an upload link we provide.
- Email and customer-management platforms we use to keep track of enquiries and send the occasional update. These may store data outside Australia.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Design files and technical information
If you send us CAD files, drawings or technical specifications, we treat them as confidential and commercially sensitive. We use them only to assess and complete your work. We don't share them with third parties, we don't reuse your geometry for other customers, and we don't publish images of your parts without asking you first.
If your work needs a formal confidentiality agreement, ask and we'll sign one before you send anything.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry records for as long as there's a reasonable business reason to — typically so we can pick up a conversation where it left off, and so we know what we've quoted before. If we do work together, we keep project records for seven years, which is what Australian tax law requires.
You can ask us to delete your information at any time and we will, unless we're required to keep it for tax or legal reasons, or we need it for a job still in progress. Design files are deleted on request.
Keeping it secure
Your enquiry travels to us over an encrypted connection, and the accounts holding it are protected with strong passwords and multi-factor authentication. No system is perfect, and we won't pretend otherwise — but we don't hold payment details or identity documents, so there is very little here worth stealing.
Getting your information, or having it deleted
Email admin@additivelab.com.au and ask. We'll tell you what we hold, correct anything wrong, or delete it. We'll respond within 30 days and usually much sooner. We may need to confirm it's really you before we act on the request.
If you're unhappy
Tell us first — email admin@additivelab.com.au and we'll try to sort it out directly. If you're not satisfied with how we handle it, you can raise the matter with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
As a small business, Additive Lab currently sits below the turnover threshold at which the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) applies. We follow this policy anyway, because we think it's the right way to handle information people trust us with — and because the law is changing to cover businesses our size.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page, increase the version number and change the date at the top. Material changes affecting existing customers will be emailed.
